Phase 01 · Site

Excavation services in Central Washington

Commercial and residential excavation from a family-owned Selah contractor: evaluation, clearing, digging, grading, trenching and drainage, all the way to a clean site ready for the next trade.

Chapter 01

Start with the site, not the machine

Good excavation begins before anything gets dug. The licensed general contractors at Fisher Construction review your project plans, inspect the property and its soil conditions, and write an excavation plan for your build site. That plan decides where the machine goes, where the spoil goes and how water will leave the lot.

Before digging, the crew contacts 811 to identify underground utilities, and consults with your HOA or COA if one applies. Local and utility permits are handled as part of the job rather than left on your list.

Clearing, digging and grading

Tear-down and land clearing come first when the site needs them. The crew can remove unwanted structures and disconnect utilities if necessary, then clear trees, stumps, brush, rocks and debris so the site is ready for construction.

Then the digging. The crew excavates for your basement or foundation and trenches septic, water, electric, gas and drainage lines below the frost line, with proper backfill. After that comes grading: leveling uneven terrain and clearing space for a driveway, pathway, patio, outdoor living area or landscaping.

Yakima, Selah and the rest of the valley have their own soils and their own freeze depth. Groundwork here is done with that in mind, not borrowed from somewhere with different dirt.

Chapter 03

Drainage, soil stabilization and a clean handoff

Yakima Valley soil needs help staying put. The crew builds drainage and stabilization into the site: sump pumps, French drains, culverts and swales, plus silt fence, straw wattles, erosion control blankets, turf reinforcement mats, imported structural fill and compaction, matched to what the lot actually needs.

When the earthwork is done, the site crew hauls away disposable and recyclable material and disposes of hazardous waste as required. The lot is left neat and ready for building construction, utility installation, concrete and landscaping contractors.

Inspections before anything gets built on top

Before building or utility installation moves ahead, Fisher schedules the safety and compliance inspections the job calls for. Keeping that work on the same crew that did the digging keeps the schedule moving into the building phase.
