Phase 03 · Finish

Home Remodeling and Renovation in Yakima, WA

Update an older house, add room for a growing family, or modernize worn-out rooms. One Selah crew plans it, builds it and walks it with you at the end.

Chapter 01

What an older house is hiding behind the finishes

Most remodels in the Yakima Valley start with a house that no longer fits the family living in it. A wall sits in the wrong place, the kitchen is closed off from the living room, a bathroom is too small for two people. Those are the problems you can see. The ones you cannot see sit behind the drywall and under the floor: structural wear, outdated wiring and hidden damage that only shows up once a wall is open.

That is why Fisher Construction treats every renovation as a building job first and a design job second. Our crew is licensed and insured, and the same people who open the walls decide how to fix what they find. Safety work like that rarely makes it into the photo, but it is the reason a finished room holds up for years. An older home keeps its character when the bones underneath are sound.

How a Fisher remodel runs, from first visit to walk-through

It starts with a conversation, not a drawing. We sit down with you to hear your vision, your goals and your budget, then build a plan around your priorities so the money goes where you will notice it every day. Updating a historic property, expanding for a growing family and replacing outdated features all begin the same way.

Next is the design phase, where we work out layouts and details with you, whether that is a modern kitchen or a cozy, functional family room. Then construction: from major structural updates to the final finishing touches, our crew handles each step. When the work is done we walk the space with you and make sure it meets your expectations before we call the job finished.

Chapter 03

One crew for the structure, the systems and the finish

Remodels go wrong at the handoff between trades. Fisher keeps the whole job under one crew, from foundation to final coat of paint.

In practice that covers the full list on this page: kitchens and baths, floors, drywall and paint, siding, structural repairs, additions, excavation and foundation work, plumbing and septic services, and roofing. If your plan calls for taking a room down to the studs or building out, the crew that frames and roofs custom homes is the crew doing the work.

Rooms people ask us about first

Homeowners across Yakima, Selah and Moxee bring us a handful of requests again and again. Open-concept living comes first: a wall comes out and the kitchen, dining and living areas connect into one bright, connected room. Spa-style bathrooms with walk-in showers and freestanding tubs come next, followed by outdoor living spaces such as patios, decks and outdoor kitchens.

Smart home features and eco-friendly choices come up too, from app-controlled lighting and efficient thermostats to water-saving fixtures, better windows and added insulation. We keep up with these so the plan fits how you want to live, not a catalog page. To talk through your house, call (509) 424-6072, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5pm. Estimates are free.
